
So far, nothing has happened except this annoyance, no work lost.

Then, the screen goes blank and the fan stops, then the machine comes back to life after, say, 30-45 seconds. I am using the app MacFanny to see this info. A few times a month, the fan will spin up to around 2200 rpm while the CPU temp seems to be in the 62 - 67 range. Because of the history, the repair shop replaced the logic board and Apple did cover it under the extended warranty, which has since expired. The original owner had apparently reported issues, had even scheduled a repair, then apparently sold it to me. Sometime in 2018 I had a local Mac repair shop look into it. It seems to have fan and stability issues after awhile along with the screen going all erratic.


I bought this machine used 3-4 years ago.
